Groomsmen Gifts: 11 Western Leather Picks, Priced (2026)

Matching leather gifts for the wedding party.

Give each groomsman one leather piece he will actually use: a card case, valet tray, dopp kit or boot flask, at $45 to $150 each on the prices we checked. Start with the $50 Hevias The Heritage Card Case. Hand it over at the rehearsal dinner. If you engrave, choose initials or a name, not the wedding date, and order early: all eight makers in the engraving table exclude engraved gifts from returns.

This guide adds three things: matching sets priced for 4, 6 and 8 groomsmen, engraving terms in each maker's own words, and the numbers on boots as a gift. We compared 11 gifts from 8 brands. Prices checked October 11, 2026, and October 16, 2026 for the Hevias pieces and The Lamar. For wider ideas, start with our Western gift guide.

How much should you spend on each groomsman?

Spend $50 to $100 on each groomsman and keep every gift in the same price range, the advice of one of the two etiquette experts CNN Underscored quotes.

  • CNN Underscored: $50 to $100 from one expert, $100 to $200 from the other.
  • GuestPix: $40 to $100, with $100 to $200 for the best man or brothers.
  • Holme & Hadfield: $75 to $150.
  • Beau-coup: $30 to $100, or 10% to 25% of what each groomsman spends on the wedding.

Best groomsmen gifts for $50 or less

Best card case: Hevias The Heritage Card Case

The Heritage Card Case is American bison leather, handcrafted in León, Mexico, for cards, ID and folded cash. At $50 it is the third-lowest-priced of the card holders we track, which run from $39.99 to $139.

Ask first if the case needs his initials: its page states no engraving option.

Best matching tray: Hevias The Heritage Valet Tray

The Heritage Valet Tray shares the card case's American bison leather and León make, and its page lists keys, watch, wallet, sunglasses, knife and cards. It costs $50 and earns its slot as the third piece of a set.

Skip it if the make matters most: Range's tray below is made in Wyoming.

Best Wyoming-made tray: Range Leather Valet Tray

Range's tray is full-grain 8 oz Horween leather made in Wyoming, with a Forever Guarantee on production defects and hardware failure. It costs $45.

Skip it if the tray needs his initials: Range's page lists no engraving.

Best embossed flask: Mission Mercantile Campaign Leather Flask

This 8 oz flask comes in thick, full-grain US vegetable-tanned cowhide, with embossing offered and a Lifetime Promise. It costs $48.30 and has 4.9 stars from 15 reviews (checked October 16, 2026).

Skip it if you think a flask will read as a cliché. CNN Underscored writes: "Groomsmen are tired of personalized flasks and other clichéd gifts for men."

Best flask for boots: Alvies Boot Flask

The Alvies Boot Flask is 7 oz stainless steel in a leather holder, with a screw-off lid and a funnel included. It costs $50 and has 4.9 stars. Its details list "Slides in and out of most tall boots."

Skip it unless he wears tall boots.

Best groomsmen gifts from $50 to $100

Best monogrammed card case: Leatherology Slim Card Case

Leatherology's case is full grain leather with a slim center pocket for folded bills and deboss monogramming offered. It costs $60 and carries a one-year limited warranty on materials and craftsmanship.

Skip it if he carries more than a few cards: the case is designed for a minimalist carry.

Best engraved tray in this guide: Popov Leather Valet Tray

Popov's tray is full-grain leather made in Canada, with laser engraving of initials, names and dates and a lifetime guarantee. At $85 it has 4.8 stars from 489 reviews (checked October 16, 2026), the most of any pick that shows a review count.

Skip it if you want the engraving price in writing: the tray page states none.

Best groomsmen gifts from $100 to $150

Best for the traveler: Hevias The Heritage Dopp Kit

A dopp kit is a leather toiletry bag, and The Heritage Dopp Kit is American bison leather with a zipper, handcrafted in León, Mexico. At $125 it costs less than the Stetson and King Ranch kits below.

Skip it if you need a stated size: its page says only "Room for grooming essentials," while the Stetson and King Ranch kits below list theirs.

Best tooled Western look: Stetson 160th Anniversary Tooled Leather Dopp Kit

Stetson's dopp kit has a tooled design and a twill lining, and measures 27 x 11 x 15 cm. It costs $130.

Skip it if you want the grade or the country: the label reads "high-quality leather" and "Imported."

Best dopp kit with free initials in this guide: King Ranch Kineño Leather Dopp Kit

King Ranch's kit is full-grain chrome-tanned pull-up leather with antiqued brass hardware, a zip-around top and a size of 10 x 4½ x 5 in. It costs $150, has 4.62 stars from 55 reviews and adds up to three initials free.

Skip it if you want a stated country of make: the page gives none.

What does a matching set cost for 4, 6 or 8 groomsmen?

A $50 Hevias card case and a $50 valet tray cost $100 per groomsman on October 16, 2026, which is $400 for 4, $600 for 6 and $800 for 8.

Set per groomsman (price on October 16, 2026) Per groomsman 4 groomsmen 6 groomsmen 8 groomsmen
Card case ($50) + valet tray ($50) $100 $400 $600 $800
Dopp kit ($125) + card case ($50) $175 $700 $1,050 $1,400
Dopp kit ($125) + card case ($50) + valet tray ($50) $225 $900 $1,350 $1,800

All three Heritage pieces list one color, Dark Brown, and one leather, American bison, so they match. Beau-coup puts the average wedding party at "between 3 and 5 groomsmen," so the 4 column is the typical party.

The card case and valet tray pair, at $100 per man, sits inside Holme & Hadfield's $75 to $150 and at the $100 ceiling of the CNN Underscored, GuestPix and Beau-coup ranges. A $125 dopp kit and a $50 card case total $175, above every party range except the $100 to $200 one from CNN Underscored's second expert.

Rival pairs run close: a Leatherology card case ($60) and a Range valet tray ($45) come to $105, and both makers name full-grain leather. Confirm the full quantity is in stock before you promise a set.

What should you look for in a leather groomsmen gift?

Look for a page that names the leather, the country of make and the size. Five of the ten leather goods in this guide name full-grain leather, and five name a country.

"High-quality leather" names no grade. Hevias names the animal, American bison, and states no grade. Our guides to full-grain vs top-grain leather and bison and water buffalo leather explain the terms.

Two gifts to skip:

  • Cheap novelty trinkets, which GuestPix tells readers to skip.
  • A trophy buckle: The Most Wanted Silver calls a gifted one poor form, as our guide to how to wear a belt buckle reports.

Should you engrave it, and can you return an engraved gift?

Engrave initials or a name if you want one, and treat the gift as final: all eight makers in the table below exclude engraved, monogrammed or personalized items from returns. CNN Underscored's etiquette expert advises against wedding-date engraving because it does not suit everyday use.

Holme & Hadfield and Beau-coup push personalization, yet none of the four lists we read says what happens when an engraved gift needs to go back.

Maker Personalization Return rule, in the maker's words
Popov Leather Laser engraving of initials, names and dates "We cannot accept returns or exchanges for: Custom products or engraved products."
King Ranch Free personalization, up to 3 initials "We do not accept returns on personalized or monogrammed products."
Billykirk Monogram in silver, gold or blind deboss "Any custom items or any items that have been embossed are all final sale and cannot be returned"
Leatherology Deboss monogramming "Personalized items, final sale items, and gift cards are non-returnable and cannot be exchanged."
Mission Mercantile Embossing offered "Items that have been damaged, altered, or personalized from their original condition are not eligible for return or exchange."
Frank Clegg Monogram, up to 3 letters, +$25 "Personalized items cannot be returned or exchanged, but our warranty still applies."
Range Leather Not stated "Monogrammed/Personalized Items, Leather Creams and Leather Cleaners are final sale and are ineligible for return or exchange."
Tanner Goods Not stated "Monogrammed items, final sale, and B-grade items will not be eligible for a refund, return or an exchange."

The Bespoke Western pieces' product pages list no engraving option.

Should you give boots as a groomsman gift?

Give boots to one man whose size you have confirmed, or give a gift card toward boots he picks, and skip boots for the whole party. At the October 16, 2026 price of $390, four pairs of The Lamar cost $1,560, six cost $2,340 and eight cost $3,120.

Boot Price Made in Construction Sizes Widths
Alvies The Lamar $390 León, Mexico ¾ Goodyear welt 8 to 15 D, EE

Prices checked October 16, 2026.

Size is the risk. The Lamar's page lists 13 sizes, from 8 to 15, and 2 widths, D and EE, so each man needs his own size and width. Stock changes, so check the product page before you order. Alvies says its men's boots fit true to size, so order the size he normally wears in other shoes.

I put fit first. Once a boot fits and has settled in, it is extremely comfortable, like a good baseball glove. A man who has never worn boots sees a long shaft, a raised heel and no laces, and wonders how a foot gets in. I think his first worry is that the boot will be uncomfortable and hard to get on and off.

Our guide to what the groomsmen wear covers the boots themselves.

Best for one man: Alvies The Lamar

I think of Alvies as the way in for a man new to boots. Its wearer is in tighter jeans and a t-shirt, out at festivals and the nightlife.

The Lamar is a cowhide J-toe boot with a 13 inch shaft and a 1.5 inch heel. It costs $390, has 4.9 stars from 116 reviews on our product page and carries a Limited Lifetime Warranty against manufacturing defects that excludes sole and heel wear, covers the original owner and carries a $19.99 replacement fee. The welt means a cobbler can resole it, though Alvies does not resole or reheel boots.

Skip it if you cannot confirm his size and width.

Should the best man get a different gift?

Yes, give the best man a step up from the party gift, in the same theme. GuestPix puts his budget at $100 to $200, and Beau-coup suggests "a slightly more embellished gift that still fits with that theme."

The party's $50 card case and $50 valet tray ($100 together) plus the $50 Alvies Boot Flask come to $150, inside that band. One pair of The Lamar, at $390, sits above that band and suits a man whose size you know.

When do you give groomsmen their gifts, and when should you order?

Give them at the rehearsal dinner, and order early enough to cover shipping and any lead time the maker states. CNN Underscored's experts call that dinner "the most natural time," GuestPix calls it "the most traditional and relaxed time," and Holme & Hadfield adds the morning of the wedding.

Bespoke Western ships most orders placed before 12:00 PM Central within 1 business day, and delivery takes 3 to 5 business days. Lead times vary by maker: Popov says an engraved bag has the same lead time as a non-engraved one, Billykirk says its made-to-order trays take "up to 5-8 days for production," and Frank Clegg says an out-of-stock color takes "within 8-12 weeks."

How we picked

We started from the 35 leather goods we tracked when we built this guide and added one boot. Each pick has a product page and a dated price. The ten leather goods were in stock on October 11, 2026, and four out-of-stock items stayed off the list.

Picks run in price bands, so the house picks sit where their prices fall. Five of the 11 picks are house products: the three Hevias Heritage pieces, the Alvies Boot Flask and The Lamar. Bespoke Western is the house behind Alvies, Hevias and Olsen-Stelzer, and sells all three.

Etiquette ranges come from CNN Underscored, GuestPix, Holme & Hadfield and Beau-coup, and policy quotes from each maker's own page. Prices checked October 11 and 16, 2026.

Quick answers

What are some good groomsmen gifts they'll actually use?

A card case, valet tray or dopp kit is a gift he will actually use, and here they run from $45 to $150.

What do men give their groomsmen?

Watches, knives, multi-tools, wallets and dopp kits appear in the CNN Underscored, GuestPix and Holme & Hadfield lists, and the last two add cufflinks. None of the four lists we read mentions boots.

What are some good luxury groomsmen gifts?

Among the leather goods here, the King Ranch dopp kit at $150 costs the most, and it adds up to three initials free. For one man, The Lamar at $390 costs more.

Should every groomsman get the same gift?

Yes, the same gift in the same price range keeps the party even. GuestPix says matching dopp kits, flasks or cufflinks "creates great unity."

Bottom line

Give each groomsman one leather piece at $45 to $150 at the rehearsal dinner, and engrave initials or a name rather than the date, since all eight makers in the engraving table treat an engraved gift as final. A $50 Hevias card case and a $50 valet tray make a matched set at $100 per man on October 16, 2026. Keep boots for one man with a confirmed size, or give a gift card.
