Alvies

Alvies is the Austin, Texas boot brand founded in 2014 by Alvie Faulkenbery IV and co-founder Clay Sexton, and part of the Bespoke Western house since May 2025. Every Alvies boot is Goodyear welted and handcrafted in León, Mexico, and each one is named after an Austin street.

Who is Alvies?

Alvies started at Austin markets, selling boots out of an Airstream. The founding idea came from a pair of boots Alvie's grandfather gave him: a well-built boot can be resoled and worn for a lifetime instead of replaced. The brand's own words are "Boots and Flops" and "Made With Soul," and its FAQ calls boots and flip-flops "the official footwear of Austin." In May 2025, 2 the Moon Ventures, the venture firm of Bespoke Western founder George Frederick Baker, Sr., acquired Alvies. Alvie Faulkenbery IV stayed on and is the house's creative lead.

Men's boots are stocked in D and EE widths, with sizes to 15 on several styles at the time of writing. Women's boots are stocked in B. How are Alvies boots built?

Every Alvies boot is Goodyear welted: a leather strip is stitched to the upper and insole, then to the outsole, so the boot can be resoled by a cobbler. Alvies publishes a limited lifetime warranty on its boots (alvies.com FAQ). Its warranty page sets the limits: it covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for the original owner, and it does not cover sole or heel wear (Alvies does not resole or reheel boots) or wear and tear. Alvies' try-on guide says the boots are designed with a wider toe box, that a little heel slip, roughly ¼ to ½ an inch, is normal in a new pair, and that the width is the part that breaks in the most.

Where does Alvies fit in the house?

Alvies is the on-ramp to Western inside Bespoke Western: modern, rooted in Austin culture, priced for a first pair. Hevias is the quieter, premium men's line. Olsen-Stelzer is the made-to-measure custom tier. Bespoke Western carries the Alvies line on this site and at the showroom at 104 Main Street, Saint Jo, Texas.
